On Thursday Finnish courts charged a man who threatened Astrid Thors (Swedish People's Party), the migration and Europe minister, by creating group on social networking website Facebook with the heading "I am prepared to do a few years for killing Astrid Thors".

He was charged with illegal threats, aggravated defamation, public encouragement of crime and incitement against a national group.

This is the first prosecution of a Facebook threat.
